This is a page of links of interest to conservation aquarists or useful to people doing research into captive breeding programs, genetics, conservation, or similar topics. This is not the world's greatest collection of links, nor is it supposed to be.
Links are divided into categories:
If you don't find what you are looking for, there is a page of unsorted links. These are links which I have not yet looked at, so I don't know how good they are or where to put them.
The AZA is running a program to breed Lake Victoria (area) Cichlids, but their page has gone away, so no link.
Here is a conservation plan from down under.
Cornell's list of endargered fishes. This is an "official list" which a lot of aquarists consider hopelessly out of date, but it is a good starting point. They've also got some more general info in their Vertebrate collections

The World Conservation Monitoring Centre has a web page. It has the IUCN "red list", and lots of other useful data and links, including the full text for CITES.

The Smithsonion's Division of Fishes - Ichthyology has a web page.
The Environmental Protection Agency: EPA has a very slow link.
And their Canadian equivalent: Environment Canada's Green Lane. Another Canadian government site is the ICOIN Home Page. And also Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada.
ERIN seems to have a huge amount of information on line. Laws, endangered species (animals and plants!), threats, it is all here. If you can not get info from the page listed above, try accessing the raw directory.
Links to other lists of similar organizations exist on FishWEB
Terry Polk's Zoological E-mail Directory This is a list of zoo and aquarium professionals who have email access. There is also the Consortium of Aquariums, Universities and Zoos, which has a directory and conservation information on line.
